• Battery life in antit-heft tracking only mode: 3 years
• Battery life in Strava mode: 1 month

• Mounts to the bottle holder or using adjustable steel “pipe” clips (20-100mm diameter)

• Our tests for robustness will include running it over with a car, attempting to pry / hit it off a bike with a hammer, screwdriver… essentially anything that’s not an angle grinder.

Preliminary Specifications

• Max brightness: 6000 lumen (40 minutes run time, you don’t want or need to run it on that brightness for long periods… but who doesn’t like a good brag)
• Battery life on 600 lumen output = 8 hours
• Battery life on 200 lumen output = 24h
• Battery life in antitheft tracking only mode: 15 years (3 month reservoir maintained independent of light & screen functions)
• 4 beam options: Dipped and Full beam , both in narrow or wide configurations (max brightness of 6000 is with all LEDs on at the same time)
• Integrated 130dB+ Horn
• 3.7” E-Ink display for information display and route finding. Also remaining battery life in minutes.
• IP66 Waterproof
• Full aluminium construction. Polycarbonate for the transparent bits (screen, light)

Use cases

MOUNTAIN BIKERS

• Super bright wide beam. Think of it as the main beam on a car. Will make offroading at night a lot safer, you’ll be able to see the trail. what’s next to it and what’s coming up
• Robust construction. Money back if it breaks before you or your bike..
• Offroad navigation: Import Strava (or other) routes and see a simple trail: where you’ve been, where you need to go (no turn-by-turn navigation, so it works where google maps doesn’t, e-ink display means easy visibility )
• Drop time feature: accelerometer detects how long you’ve been in freefall for, so you can track your jumps

ROAD BIKERS

• All the usual stats (distance, speed, current inclination, heartrate if you have a Bluetooth chest-strap on) with automatic upload to strava (this has a sim card in it, no need to bring your phone)
• Dipped beam for road cycling + ultra-bright flashes (see, be seen)
• Route navigation as per MTB
• Peloton features: see stats for nearest riders (ie Mike is 40m away, doing 25km/h on a 3% hill with 110bpm hr)

BIKE OWNER: Generic features

• Horn button
• Built in alarm. If the bike is locked up and device is Armed, any motion detected will trigger a warning (Beep… beep… beep, screen will say “back off or else, 10…9…8…..1“, if motion doesn’t stop, full blown siren and flashing goes off, owner is notified via push notification within 30s)
• Alarm auto disables when you are nearby (phone proximity). Can’t be removed though.
• Ref pictures: secure motorised locking system. You need to unlock using phone biometrics or a pin code (entered on your phone or the device). Mechanism releases so you can slide it off.
• Automatic brightness adjustment based on ambient brightness. Auto dipping of main beam when car headlamps detected. Software control to prevent users pointing it upwards and turning on full brightness.
